Training can boost your career as a foster carer and enhance the care you provide foster children

No two placements are the same. Alongside the basic mandatory training, we provide a range of ongoing courses that offer support in the areas you, your birth children, and foster children need most.

Your support network

You’ll have a lot of experienced people working with you and your foster family – including a dedicated support worker and on call 24/7 emergency cover. We also work with specialists who can offer clinical and educational support.

At The Fostering Company we’re a real community, so away from the formal support system, we hold regular support groups and meet ups with other foster families so you can have a chat in an informal setting. These sessions can be with, or at times without, the assistance of the fostering social work team. This provides much needed opportunity to talk about fostering issues with other carers.

Pay and allowances

It is our responsibility to ensure our carers are equipped with the resources they need to offer a safe and loving home. That’s why we pay our foster carers a generous fostering allowance so they can focus on giving their foster child the best possible care.
